Genesis 37:18-20 (KJV)
18[And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to slay him.] 19[And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh.] 20[Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams.]
In this portion of scripture we find find Joseph the son of Jacob who was the one renamed Isreal. The nation of Isreal which was Josephs father and brothers. Joseph had been given dreams from God as to what the truth was about all of them and the nation as a whole, when Joseph shared this truth the nation of Isreal, Josephs brothers refused to believe him and conspired to kill him.

David destined to be King, but that truth only known to him and a few Godly men. Saul still the King of the nation of Israel as David began to gain authority and influence in the country was turned against him and set the country against him to find and kill him as David fled for his life.

In the life of Jesus we find nothing new from the rest of the scriptures we see a man betrayed by his brethren, yes and in fact by his nation, his country, simply for the message he brought to his people from God.

John 20:21 (KJV)
Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

Luke 10:3-4 (KJV)

Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV)
18All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
